Berry and Dolly

“Berry and Dolly” is a Hungarian animated series primarily intended for preschool children aged 2 to 6 years. The series is set in a small forest and revolves around two main characters, Berry the snail and Dolly the ladybird, along with their friends from the forest and beetle community. The stories in “Berry and Dolly” are inspired by children’s everyday lives and emphasize themes such as love, loyalty, and respect for nature.

The series was directed by Géza M. Tóth and Antonin Krizsanics, and it’s based on books written and illustrated by Erika Bartos. Produced by KEDD Animation Studio, the series consists of 26 episodes, each approximately 5 minutes in length. The production spanned from 2009 to 2011. Notably, “Berry and Dolly” achieved acclaim by winning the Best Short Film Award at the Jiangyin Children’s Film Festival in 2011. This series stands out as a significant work in Hungarian animation, being one of the few of its kind produced in Hungary from a Hungarian author’s work in nearly two decades​.
