Story
“Carrapatos e Catapultas” is a Brazilian animated series that presents the adventures of ticks with duck beaks named Bum, Bod, Bolāo (Sweepstake) and Baixinho (Quietly), who are all friends. The focus of the show revolves around the ticks eating goo with the intention of getting fatter and dying to go to paradise. The series is aimed at children aged 8 to 12 and is designed to make young people enjoy and think about relevant issues in their day-to-day lives
Who are the main characters of Carrapatos e Catapultas?
Bum: this yellow tick is the main character. Unlike the other ticks, Bum doesn't dream of exploding and going to tick heaven. He has a calm personality and his best friends are Bod and Bolão. He is also responsible for Shorty, his younger cousin.
Bod: a green tick who is Bum's best friend. Unlike him, Bod has a more cheerful and agitated personality. Just like the other ticks, he tries to put on weight and explode in order to go to tick heaven, but he never succeeds and is always losing weight.
Bolão: a huge purple tick who is Bum and Bod's friend. He's extremely fat and is always putting on weight in the hope that he'll explode like all ticks, which never seems to happen. He's not very clever and often ends up doing the wrong thing.
Baixinho: a small beige tick, Bum's cousin. He's very agitated and full of energy, getting excited about everything and causing a lot of trouble. He moved into Bum's house after his parents exploded. His biggest hobby and addiction is jumping off catapults.
Bonaparte: he is Bum, Bod and Bolão's boss. He's very nervous and short. He is named after Napoleon Bonaparte and wears the same kind of hat.
Pati: a tick who is in love with Bum, and who works at Suganete. Several ticks are in love with her, although she is only interested in Bum, who doesn't care about her and walks away.
