“Chasseurs de Dragons” (Dragon Hunters) is a French animated fantasy comedy television series set in a medieval world composed of floating land masses. The plot follows the adventures of two main characters, Gwizdo and Lian-Chu, who are professional dragon hunters and have known each other since childhood. Constantly struggling financially, they reside at the Snoring Dragon Inn, taking on dragon-hunting contracts to pay their rent.
The series revolves around their various quests and misadventures as they encounter different types of dragons and monsters. Each episode typically features a new dragon-hunting contract, challenges and obstacles they must overcome, and interactions with other characters at the Snoring Dragon Inn. Gwizdo is portrayed as a cunning scam artist who can read, write, and handle the business side of their operations, while Lian-Chu is depicted as a muscular warrior with a kind heart who does the actual dragon slaying.
Throughout the series, themes of friendship, bravery, and survival are explored in a fantastical world filled with dangerous creatures. Despite their financial struggles and the constant threats they face, Gwizdo and Lian-Chu’s bond and determination keep them going as they navigate their perilous profession in this unique floating world.

Who are the main characters of Chasseurs de Dragons?
Lian-Chu: a sword-wielding, muscular warrior who handles the dragon slaying. He is kindhearted, honorable, and an avid knitter. Despite his strength, he is gentle and compassionate, carrying emotional trauma from losing his parents to a dragon. Lian-Chu is illiterate and relies on Gwizdo for reading and writing.
Gwizdo: the brains of the group, responsible for negotiating contracts and handling logistics. Small and gangly, he is avaricious, cowardly, egotistical, and cynical, often abusing Hector with insults. However, he has a hidden heart of gold that emerges in moments of loyalty to his friends. Gwizdo is also charismatic and serves as a lovable rogue.
Hector: the team's pet creature who resembles a small dragon but lacks their ferocity. He provides comic relief and assists the hunters in their adventures.
Jeanneline: the owner of the Snoring Dragon Inn where Lian-Chu and Gwizdo live. She is short-tempered, strict, and cynical but harbors feelings for Gwizdo despite his reluctance to commit. She is also Zaza's mother.
Zaza: Jeanneline's youngest daughter who idolizes Lian-Chu and dreams of becoming a dragon hunter. She is determined and adventurous, occasionally joining the hunters on their quests despite her mother's disapproval.
Zoe: Jeanneline's eldest daughter and a skilled dragon hunter in her own right. She faces sexism in her profession and has disguised herself as a man to secure more contracts.
Noble Kayo: an elderly doctor who provides advice to the hunters about strange conditions like poisons or paralysis. He is intelligent but nearly blind and absent-minded.
George and Gilbert Forrestal: a duo of rival dragon hunters who grew up with Lian-Chu and Gwizdo in an orphanage. They often mock Gwizdo and compete for bounties.
Prince Granion de Bismuth: a noble yet naive young prince who hunts dragons for free out of selflessness.
