Story
“Dinosaurs” was an American family sitcom television series that aired on ABC from 1991 to 1994. The show followed the life of a family of anthropomorphic dinosaurs living in a modern world, with the Sinclair family at the center of the story.
The Sinclair family consisted of the father Earl, a blue-collar worker who pushes trees for the WESAYSO Corporation, his wife Fran, their three children Robbie, Charlene, and the mischievous Baby, as well as Earl’s grouchy mother-in-law Ethyl.
The show tackled a wide range of social and political issues through the lens of the dinosaur family, including environmentalism, racism, sexual harassment, and more. It was known for its clever satire and the use of the dinosaur characters to parody modern American life.
Dinosaurs was the final project overseen by Jim Henson before his death, and the pilot episode was dedicated to his memory.
The show was a critical and commercial success in its early seasons, but ratings declined after it was moved to different time slots, leading to its cancellation in 1994.The series ended on a somber note, with the Sinclair family facing the impending extinction of the dinosaurs
