“H2O – Mermaid Adventures” is a combination of comedy, friendship and adventures, both on land in Dolphin City and in a marvellous and magical undersea world. The animated series is taking the original concept of the world-hit live-action series to a whole new level.
While exploring the mysterious Island of Mako, three quite ordinary teenage girls fall under a spell that changes their lives. From now on, whenever water splashes any one of them, they are transformed into mermaids! Endless situations and missions draw the three friends into the incredible underwater world where they make new friends: Bernie the hermit crab, Zita the inquisitive eel, Teddy the kid turtle, Sue the mystical manta ray and Carlotta the diva-jellyfish – and have endless fun and wonderful, enchanting adventures under the sea.
But being a mermaid is not just a mega-complication, it’s also extremely cool. You can swim like a dolphin, breathe underwater and cover huge distances in record time. And you feel amazing in the water, it’s like all your worries disappear. And most incredible of all, the three girls have special magic powers, all involving water: Cleo can move water around and turn it into any shape or form. She can make water jump out of a glass, create a huge wave, or even a snake shape to fill up a tunnel! Rikki can make water boil – under water, to ward off a hammerhead shark, or on land to create a sauna in a classroom. And Emma’s power is to turn water into ice: a wall, snowflakes, or
huge blocks. The only person who knows their secret is their best friend Lewis, who was with them on Mako Island. This little genius accompanies them on their adventures, and is always helping with scientific discoveries and inventions – and he’s secretly in love with Cleo…
Underwater, they make friends with Bernie the hermit crab. Bernie is their friend, he comes on to dry land to warn them what’s going on. And sometimes he gets into trouble with the Vandal Gang – Murray the Moray, Danny the Octopus and Burke the Hammerhead shark – who are trying to dominate the bay and throw out
the mermaids. Endless situations and missions draw the three friends into the incredible underwater world: discovering the wreck of the White Mermaid galleon; saving an injured turtle; looking for a lost ring; Cleo sabotaging a rival’s attempts to win Lewis over to her; rescuing a drowning surfer…

Who are the main characters of H2O Mermaid Adventures?
Rikki Chadwick: she's a determined and fearless teenager who takes life by storm. Becoming a mermaid feels like a stroke of luck to her, and she decides to make the most of it.
Emma Gilbert: a logical and mature girl, who's a perfectionist. She misses being able to just swim without turning into a mermaid.
Cleo Sertori: she's a shy and intuitive girl, and sometimes her shyness is blocking her ability to respond. She sometimes likes being a mermaid, and sometimes sees it as a horrible punishment.
Lewis McCartney: he's a young genius who wants to become an inventor and researcher in robotics. He's top of the class in everything, but he's no nerd. Lewis is the only person who knows about the spell over the three girls.
Bernie: this little hermit crab befriends the three mermaids. Bernie regards himself as the General of the underwater world. When something goes wrong under the surface of the water, he comes and gets the girls.
Zane: he's a charming, handsome, strong and athletic teenager who has a crush on Rikki.
Miriam: she's the daughter of the mayor of Dolphin City. She takes real pleasure in putting down other people. She's very spoiled and can have anything she wants.
Byron: he's a cool, laid back and handsome surfer, who's loved by girls and boys alike.
Zita: a curious eel, who's a terrible gossip/
Carlotta: a diva jellyfish, with an awesome singing voice. She's easily offended, but very kind and considerate.
