The Japanese-influenced animated series “Kuu Kuu Harajuku” was created by the American singer-songwriter Gwen Stefani as a spin-off of her merchandise brand “Harajuku Lovers”. It follows the adventures of a girl music band called HJ5 and their clumsy manager Rudie as they overcome obstacles that prevent them for performing shows in Harajuku City, a town loosely based on Tokyo. The band is made up of 5 girls: Love, Angel, Music, Baby and the lead singer G. They each have their own strenghts, which are used in combination to stand up to villains General NoFun and his assistant Commander Bo-Ring, who dream of a world without any entertainment.
