Les Mystérieuses Cités d’Or

Esteban: a young Spanish boy who is the main protagonist. He possesses the ability to bring the sun out and is searching for his father and the Cities of Gold.
Zia: an Inca girl who was kidnapped by the Spaniards. She has a medallion that is a key to the Cities of Gold and is very knowledgeable about her culture.
Tao: the last descendant of the sunken empire of Mu. He's very intelligent and carries an ancient book that only he can read.
Mendoza: a Spanish navigator who looks after the children. He has his own motives for finding the Cities of Gold but also grows to care deeply for Esteban, Zia, and Tao.
Sancho and Pedro: two sailors and comic relief characters who accompany Mendoza. They're more interested in gold and riches than in the actual adventure.
The Great Condor: a magnificent golden mechanical bird that the children discover and use to travel. It's almost a character in its own right due to its importance and symbolism.
Menator: a mysterious character who possesses knowledge about the Cities of Gold and has his own agenda.
Kokapetl: Tao's pet parrot, often involved in comic relief and minor plot points.
Papacamayo: a wise old man who helps the children in their quest.
Governor Pizarro: he epresents the Spanish Conquistadors and is an antagonist in the series, often causing trouble for the children in their quest.
