Story

The animated television series Lucky Luke is based on a comic book character created in 1946 by Belgian cartoonist Morris. Lucky Luke is a very resourceful cowboy with incredible gun skills: he is said to shoot faster than his shadow! Luke spends his days helping people and capturing bad guys, especially the Dalton brothers, who frequently escape from jail and need to be chased again. Luke rides “the smartest horse in the world” Jolly Jumper. His sidekick is a prison guard dog, Rantanplan, who might be the stupidest dog in the universe! This animated series shows Lucky Luke meeting numerous historical Western figures and addresses many historical facts of the 19 th century. In 2001 a new animated television series was launched as a spin-off, The New Adventures of Lucky Luke.
