While working on a junkyard, mechanic Coop and his best friend Jamie – two teenage slackers – find Megas, a mechanized robot from the future. Coop decides to personalize the robot by replacing its head with a classic muscle car and gives it a new name : XLR, meaning eXtra Large Robot. Together with the original pilot of Megas, Coop and Jamie must defend the Earth from the Glorft, an evil alien species.
