Story
Parents often remind their children that, like them, they were once young. However, it’s hard for them to imagine their parents as children, partly because they place their parents’ youth in the distant past, somewhere in the vast expanse of time between the Middle Ages and the age of cell phones. What’s more, the rapid technological evolution of the last fifty years makes their parents’ childhood very different from theirs. This series shows children how their parents lived at their age. The concept was extended to the 50s generation, who grew up without television but witnessed the emergence of household appliances. The aim is to show that, despite cultural and technological changes, a child of today could make friends with a child born forty years ago. This is the essence of “Me at your age…”. The story of a friendship between a young boy and the members of his family, in their own time.
Who are the main characters of Moi à ton âge?
Paul: he's a 10-year-old boy, who seems to be like any other boy his age: he goes to school, loves sport, plays video games, spends hours on his phone... But Paul isn't an ordinary boy, he has a super power! He can return into the past to meet his family members when they were his age.
Albert: he's Paul's father, and he thinks he's the coolest dad around. He launched a rock group and learned to ride a skateboard.
Primrose: she's Paul's mum. She loves technology and she's an inventor.
Maurice: Paul's grandfather, a gently but shy man.
Solange: Paul's paternal grandmother. She's still very active, does yoga and pilates.
Lucette: Paul's maternal grandmother. She's an activist for the environment, equal rights and global peace.
Chloé: Paul's younger sister. She's 7 years old, and she's very inquisitive and sociable.
Yanissa: Paul's best friend. They know each other very well and like the same things.
Bisou: the family's pet dog. Over the generations, the family members have always had the same breed of dog, who has always been called Bisou.
