Story
A group of young nerdy kids find themselves washed up on an uncharted island. Just when they think the island is uninhabited, they find out a hideous tribe of monsters live there! To survive, the children have to be smart if they want to avoid trouble with the monsters, who see the Nerds as a threat to their way of life. Luckily, there is one monster who is curious enough to befriend the Nerds. Lyle is a gentle and kind monster who prefers the company of humans.
Who are the main characters of Nerds and Monsters?
Dudley Squat: A short boy who's the self-proclaimed leader of the Nerds. He's a selfish boy who wants things to be done his way.
Irwin Chung: A nerd from Chinese Canadian descent, who is afraid of everything and everyone, except from Becky, the girl he has a crush on.
Becky: A Scottish Canadian nerd, the only girl in the group. She's tall and likes zoology and entymology.
Stan: He's a Canadian American boy, who's the top lineman of his football team at school. He's not so smart, but he's very friendly. He's also has a crush on Becky.
Zarg: Zarg is the king of the Monsters. He's a purple creature with two large, striped horns.
Skur: A winged lizard-like monster, that serves Zarg. He's got his eye on the throne and wants to rule Monster Island himself.
Lyle: King Zarg's nephew, a nerdy kind of monster, who feels some affinity with the Nerds.
Urp and Durn: Lyle's parents, who share the same body. The mother is the head, while the father is the belly.
Vink: A pink, childlike monster who has trouble concentrating. He's got one big horn on his head.
Maiden Cheena: She's the Queen of Monster Island. She's actually an inflatable pool that washed up on the island's beach and carries the label "Made in China".
