“OPS (Orrendi per Sempre)” is an Italian animated series of 52 episodes. Did a child just pass you at the traffic lights, running on its creaky metal legs? Has the skeleton of a Velociraptor cub, chased by a pale little girl, cut you off? A little boy with long scars on his face is playing heartbreaking music on his harmonica and you can’t help but cry? Have you let a pretty little girl cross your path and in passing she has made the radio, horn and windscreen wipers of your car go crazy? Rest assured! You have not gone mad at all. You’ve just bumped into the ‘Orrendi per sempre’: the most bizarre, grotesque and hilarious group of friends ever…
Inspired by the “Orrendi per sempre” series of books published by Giunti Editore, the series has as its protagonist Albein, a 7-year-old boy who has the intelligence of a Nobel Prize winner but has a problem with his legs that do not allow him to walk without help. Despite his great desire to make friends, he fails to fit in at school. Determined to make friends too, he turns Lalla, an old washing machine into a curious ‘friend-finding’ contraption. What comes out of the washing machine’s porthole is a real surprise! He never imagined that he would be confronted by three unusual kids like Kripta, Macabro and Scossa…
Kripta is… deceased: she often loses pieces of her body and carelessly reattaches them; Macabro is riddled with infected, bleeding wounds that never heal; Scossa throws powerful electric shocks when he feels any emotion. It is Albein’s formidable invention that brings them together and transforms them (not without some misadventure!) into the Orrendi per sempre, a close-knit group who, thanks to their ‘characteristics’, manage to bring help to children in distress. And together, battling daily with the hostility and mistrust of people because of their being ‘special’, none of them will ever feel alone again!
