The part live action and part animation series features Pablo, a 5-year-old autistic boy. Pablo has a bunch of animal friends, called the Book Animals, who accompany him on a series of adventures in his imaginary world, the Art World. Every episode of this series starts off in the real world, where Pablo is supposed to perform a task or participate in some activity. Whenever Pablo encounters a difficulty or a problem, the series transforms into animation and he enters his Art World, a world created by his drawings. The Book Animals will then help Pablo to solve the problem. The entire writing team and voice cast of the series are themselves autistic.

Pablo: A young boy who is the main protagonist of the show. He is 5-year-old and has autism.
Mouse: Mouse doesn't like loud noises. She is very organised and speaks in the third person.
Noa: Noa is a sensitive dinosaur. He has great difficulty to express how he's feeling, so he "stims" by flapping his hands.
Tang: Tang is a very funny orangutan. He has trouble reading social cues and isn't so careful.
Wren: She is very kind and has a beautiful singing voice. She manages to sooth the others when they're stressed out.
Llama: She can always seen bouncing back and forth on her four legs. She constantly repeats noises and sounds that she hears.
Draff: He is a very smart boy giraffe, who loves to explain things to his friends.
