Pettson: he's an old man who lives by himself in a wooden house, with just his cat Findus for company. He spends a lot of time inventing things, using scrap materials he finds in the countryside. He's a very gentle man, who's at peace with himself and the world he lives in.
Findus: he's Pettson tomcat. He is curious and clever, but cheeky and stubborn. He wears a green little hat and green striped trousers.
The Hens: these 9 hens live on Pettson's farm. They are very demanding and want to be treated like princesses. They nag the whole time, they love to gossip and chat at their coffee parties.
The Mucklas: these 6 strange creatures live in Pettson's house, they are his imaginary friends. The Mucklas are chaotic beings who like to imitate activities Pettson engages in.
Gustavsson: he is Pettson nearest neighbour, and thinks the old man is a bit strange. Even though he pretends not to like Pettson very much, he always stands by him and helps him when needed.
Harpo: Gustavsson's dog. He's a hunting dog, but he's very gentle with Findus.
Beda Andersson: an old lady who lives close to Pettson and who can be considered his friend. She is a bit grumpy, but Pettson likes her very much.
