When 12-year-old Fortuna “Lucky” moves from the city to the small frontier town of Miradero, she comes across a wild kiger mustang horse called Spirit. The horse is captured and brought to Miradero to be broken in. As an accomplished rider, Lucky immediately bonds with Spirit and manages to free him from his pen. She makes two new friends, Prudence and Abigail, who both own their horse. Together, the trio goes on lots of adventures on their horses.
