Tara Duncan

“Tara Duncan” is an American animated television series from 2010, loosely based on the French book series of the same name by author Sophie Audouin-Mamikonian. The show follows the adventures of a teenage girl named Tara Duncan, who discovers that she is a powerful sorceress from another dimension called Otherworld and the leader of the Alpha Team.

In the show, Tara must balance her life as a regular teenager with her duties as the heir to the throne of Otherworld. She is aided in her adventures by her best friends, princess Gloria Daaval who turns into a monster when she’s angry and Cal, the third member of the Alpha Team. During her missions, the Alpha Team gets a lot of help from their mentor, a powerful dragon wizard named Master Chem.

Throughout the series, Tara and her friends must face various challenges, including battles with evil sorcerers, navigating the politics of Otherworld, and dealing with the difficulties of teenage life. Along the way, they also learn more about Tara’s past and her family history.

One of the strengths of “Tara Duncan” is its diverse cast of characters. Along with Tara, Sparrow, Cal and Master Chem, the show features a wide range of creatures and personalities, including a shape-shifting panther, a half-elf, and a mischievous gnome.

The animation style of the show is colorful and vibrant, with a focus on fast-paced action sequences and magical effects. The show’s soundtrack is also notable, with a catchy theme song and original music that adds to the overall atmosphere of the show.

In 2022, a new computer-animated version of the series was developed, which follows the plot of the novels more closely.
