Avatar: The Last Airbender, a cartoon created 15 years ago for Nickelodeon, has now become the most popular series on Netflix in the US. The show is so ancient that it is still in the 4:3 ratio format instead of widescreen. Avatar is definitely not just for young kids, as it blends elements of fantasy and the superhero genre. You can watch the whole first season on Netflix, 60 episodes of 20 minutes each. Netflix has announced its intention to make a live-action adaptation of the show in collaboration with its original creators.
