Hanna-Barbera Cartoons was an iconic American animation studio and production company that was founded by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera in 1959 in Los Angeles, USA. The duo had already worked in various animation studios and met at the Metro-Goldwyn-Meyer Studio in 1937. They have made an incredible amount of unforgettable and iconic characters that are now part of western cultural heritage. Hanna-Barbera Cartoons was first acquiered by Turner and later absorbed into Warner Bros. Animation in 2001. In 2021, the Hanna-Barbera name was revived when Cartoon Network Europe rebranded its studio as Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe.
