Country: United Kingdom
Director(s): Anne Wood
animated puppetry, 2D animation, pre-school programmes
Ragdoll Productions was created in 1984 by former secundary school teacher and publisher Anne Wood, who had a vision to create programmes for young children. Anne wanted to capture children’s imaginations through fantasy and play. The vast majority of Ragdoll Productions’ programmes involve puppets, with its biggest hits being Teletubbies, created for the BBC. In 2013 all the rights to Ragdoll Programmes were acquired by DHX Media, including Teletubbies. This investment allowed Ragdoll Productions to grow and develop 2D animation with its latest show, BOT and the Beasties.
