Toei Animation

The studio was founded in 1948 as Japan Animated Films. When Toei acquired the studio in 1956, it was renamed Toei Animation. The studio specialises in TV series and feature films based on Japanese comics and mangas. In the ’80s, Toei Animation started producing content for the American market. The company’s mascot is the cat Pero. Its most famous productions are “One Piece” and “Dragon Ball”. The company is owned by Sony Group.
