What is a voice actor?
A voice actor is someone who is paid to provide voices for animated characters in movies, television shows, video games, and other forms of media.
Voice actors typically have a wide range of voices that they can perform, and they are often called upon to do impressions of other celebrities or characters. In some cases, a voice actor may be asked to provide the voice for an entire cast of characters in a particular project.
Voice acting is a highly competitive field, and many voice actors work on a freelance basis.
How much are voice actors paid?
It varies greatly depending on the project, the voice actor‘s experience, the country, and many other factors.
Generally, voice actors are paid per project or per hour, with rates ranging from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. Some union contracts stipulate minimum payments, but many projects are non–union.
In addition, many voice actors supplement their income with other related work, such as writing, producing, or teaching.
